The SO-FREE project is pleased to announce its final Stakeholder Workshop, taking place in Warsaw, 28 May 2026 (09:00 – 14:00). The event will take place at the demonstration site of IEN The Institute of Power Engineering, where the project’s innovative solid oxide fuel cell combined heat and power (SOFC-CHP) system is currently being operated and validated under real-world conditions.
The event, titled “Combined Heat and Power in a Changing World: What Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Can Do for Fuel Flexibility and Energy Saving”, will bring together key industrial stakeholders, technology developers, researchers, certification bodies, system integrators and policy makers to discuss the role of solid oxide technologies in the future decarbonisation of the gas and energy sectors.
The workshop represents a major milestone for the SO-FREE project and will provide participants with the opportunity to explore the project’s achievements, technical progress and demonstration results. Particular attention will be dedicated to the future integration of fuel-flexible SOFC technologies within increasingly green gas grids and hybrid energy systems.
The Stakeholder Panel includes representatives from prominent organisations in the gas sector interested in monitoring the development of downstream appliances capable of supporting the progressive greening of natural gas infrastructure. Remote conferencing tools will also be used to ensure continuous engagement of External Advisors and stakeholders unable to attend in person.
The workshop will serve not only as a dissemination event for industrial stakeholders and their networks, but also as a platform to foster dialogue with component manufacturers, stack suppliers, system integrators, public authorities and the wider community.
